What is Video Monitoring?  Video monitoring systems are comprised of anywhere from one to hundreds of cameras.  These cameras are connected to equipment such as Switchers, Network Switches, Multiplexers and Monitors.

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) video systems utilize a digital video recorder (DVR) for recording images whereas IP video systems record images to a network video recorder (NVR).  For those transitioning from CCTV cameras to IP camera technology, the significant investment in CCTV cameras can be retained by employing a hybrid video recorder (HVR).
